LEARN Board of Directors

LEARN, a Regional Educational Service Center (RESC), serves 25 school districts in southeastern/shoreline Connecticut. Federal funding and local support led to the creation of LEARN as an entity to provide services to students in August, 1967. State statutes (section 10-66) authorized the establishment of RESC's and LEARN became one of six in the state effective July 1, 1968. LEARN is a public educational agency governed by a Board of Directors. The Board of Directors consists of members who are elected to a local Board of Education and are then appointed by that Board to serve on the LEARN Board.

LEARN is committed to a policy of equal opportunity/affirmative action for all qualified persons. LEARN does not discriminate in any employment practice, education program, or educational activity on the basis of race, color, religious creed, sex, age, national origin, ancestry, marital status, sexual orientation, disability (including, but not limited to, mental retardation, past or present history of mental disability, physical disability or learning disability), genetic information, or any other basis prohibited by Connecticut state and/or federal nondiscrimination laws.
